More high street banks are set to lose branches as the three biggest banking chains in the UK begin to close during the month. Hundreds of bank branches have already closed across the country, with no signs of slowing down in 2026 either. Branches continue to close to reflect this situation, as issues have been raised about elderly and vulnerable banking customers who may rely on in-person services Changing habits between earners and savers.
Banks announced that the majority of their customers use internet and in-app banking, and that there has been a significant decrease in the number of branch visits.
