Telangana HC Sets Dec 22 for Final Hearing on Group-1 Mains Appeals

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has fixed December 22 as the last date of hearing in the appeals filed by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) and others against the single judge order canceling the results and rank list of Group-1 Mains examinations held in October last year.
A notification was published for 563 Group I shipments on 19.02.2024. Preliminary exam was held on 9 June 2024 and Mains was held on 21-27 October. The merit list was announced on March 30 this year. A single judge bench of the Telangana High Court set aside the merit list and ordered the commission to re-evaluate the answer scripts or conduct a fresh examination.
As a result, the final selection list of 562 out of 563 vacancies was announced on 24 September 2025.
In the objections filed by TGPSC and the successful candidates, the division bench, by an interim order dated 24.09.2025, stayed the valid part of the single judge orders and made it clear that the appointments made during this period will depend on the outcome of the objections before it. Meanwhile, the government has issued appointment letters to successful candidates.
The plaintiffs before the single judge, who were aggrieved by the election process, requested the court to conclude the appeal hearing as soon as possible. On Tuesday, an adjournment request was sought by Solicitor General Sudershan Reddy, representing TGPSC, and the appellant lawyers.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G M Mohiuddin announced that no further written applications would be accepted and the next hearing was scheduled for December 22. The court emphasized the urgency of the matter, recalled previous instructions regarding timely submissions, and expressed the expectation that all parties would be prepared. The court also stated that the hearing may last 2-3 days and that the next date was set as December 22.
