Phil Mickelson reacts to Charlie Kirk’s Presidential Medal of Freedom

Golf legend Phil Mickelson shared his reaction to the news that the late Charlie Kirk will posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom on October 14, which would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday.
Mickelson shared the news with his thoughts by posting an X on Saturday.
“His presence and message will live on forever, but I still wish he was here. This award is well deserved,” Mickelson wrote.

Mickelson has faithfully celebrated Kirk’s life since the conservative activist was killed in Utah last month. Mickelson also took aim at those who made inflammatory comments following Kirk’s death.

Last month, in response to a statement from the president of the Oxford Union, he wrote of “The worldwide unification, love, support and outcry for him is heart-warming.
“The number of supporters of Tyler Robinson’s appalling behavior has opened my eyes to a side of extremism with a moral superiority complex that has shaken my faith in people in general. I hope they are held accountable for their disgusting rhetoric.”
Mickelson also shared a post featuring one of Kirk’s arguments. A conversation with another student described Kirk’s confinement of a college-aged man and his “hatred” for billionaires like the President. Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

“His ability and intelligence to use words to win arguments intimidated them,” Mickelson wrote.
After insulting the controversial congresswoman, Mickelson also took aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. Forty and his legacy in a CNN interview.
During an interview on CNN Omar addressed Recent social media posts in which she called Kirk “Dr. Frankenstein” doubled down on those comments, saying his legacy should be left “in the dustbin of history.”
“What I find infuriating is that there are so many people who are willing to excuse the most abhorrent things he said, who agree with that, who are willing to erect monuments to him, who want to create a day to honor him, who want to produce resolutions in Congress that honor his life and his legacy,” Omar said. he said.
“I will not sit here and be judged for not wanting to honor the legacy this man left behind, which should be consigned to the dustbin of history, and I hope we can move on and forget the hatred he spews every day.”

Mickelson responded to Omar’s comments in a post on X, saying he hoped she would be “deported back to Somalia soon.”

“Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and I hope she is sent back to Somalia soon,” Mickelson wrote.
