Furious Trump’s red line ‘we can’t let Iran have nuclear weapon’ | US | News

Donald Trump announced Wednesday that America will not allow Iran to acquire atomic weapons, drawing a clear red line that sets the stage for possible military conflict.

The President’s State of the Union warning came as he declared victory in last year’s Operation Midnight Hammer, saying he had completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities and halted the regime’s ability to export terrorism.

Trump said, “Without Operation Midnight Hammer, the Iranian regime would be spreading terrorism. We destroyed their nuclear program. They are working to build missiles that will reach the United States,” and then gave his ultimatum: “We cannot allow them to have nuclear weapons.”

Congressional lawmakers noted that Trump identified the Iranian nuclear threat as the country’s most critical security challenge and that his 2025 bombing campaign averted a regional disaster.

Speech marred by expulsions from Democrats

Trump delivered this speech on America’s 250th anniversary, but the proceedings were thrown into chaos when Democratic lawmaker Al Green was ejected after displaying a sign reading “Black people are not monkeys”; Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar branded Trump a “murderer” after telling Democrats they “should be ashamed” for opposing mass ICE-led deportations of illegal immigrants.

Tensions with Iran have risen since an explosion of anti-regime demonstrations in December, when government forces massacred tens of thousands of mostly young activists.

Trump condemned the killings and threatened to destroy the regime if public mass executions of protesters continued; This led the Islamic government to back down on its threat to hang arrested demonstrators en masse.

Military buildup signals imminent action

America has been building up military assets in the region in recent weeks; There is now a naval fleet positioned within striking distance and approximately 40,000 personnel are working at bases in the Gulf, especially in Qatar.

Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was considering an “initially limited military strike” to force Tehran to accept his nuclear deal demands.

Such an attack would represent an opening salvo designed to pressure the regime into reaching an agreement without triggering major retaliation. Sources familiar with the negotiations suggested that an action targeting military or government facilities could occur within days.

Senior aides have repeatedly presented this option to Trump, but it is not yet clear whether Trump is taking it seriously.

If Iran continues to resist cooperation, the United States will turn to a comprehensive campaign against its facilities, possibly aimed at overthrowing the regime completely.

According to the Daily Mail, officials stated that the military action would take the form of a “week-long operation” that could potentially turn into a “full-fledged war”. They warned that this could be “existential for the regime” and could have a “dramatic impact on the entire region”.
