GAIL signs 10-year LNG supply deal with Vitol, extends pact with Oil India

New Delhi: Gail (India) LTD, run by the state, signed a long -term LNG sales and purchasing agreement with Vitol Asia PTE. LTD, starting from 2026, for 10 years for a period of 10 years of 1 million metric tons (MMTPA) liquefied natural gas supply for Ltd.
In accordance with the agreement, Vitol said in a statement that he would deliver LNG from his global portfolio to Gail.
“Gail is expanding its long -term LNG portfolio to meet the increase in demand. We are pleased to be a partner with Vitol Asia PTE. LTD, and this agreement represents an important milestone in strengthening Gail’s ability to serve the various and developing customer base.”
Jay Ng, a finance manager of Vitol Asia and a member of the executive committee, said that the growing Indian market forms the basis of the Vitol strategy and enables its diversified portfolio to provide a stable clean and competitive energy supply to India.
India was the world’s fourth largest LNG importer in 2024, and demand is expected to continue to increase steadily over the next decade. The central government set a target to increase the share of natural gas in the country’s primary energy mixture from 6% to 15% existing by 2030. As part of this vision, India’s LNG reorganization capacity increased almost doubled from 21 mmtpa in 2014.
Separately, on July 9, Gail signed an agreement to expand its valid gas sales and purchasing agreements for 15 years since July 1, 2025. According to the reviewed agreement, Oil India will supply 900,000 standard cubic meters (SCMD) natural gas from the Bakhri Tibba block in Rajastan.
Gail currently has a natural gas pipeline network of 16,421 km throughout the country and operates and transmits more than 127 million standard cubic meters (MMSCMD) 25 FY per day. In addition, this network is carrying out multiple pipeline projects to expand further. The company operates a gas -based petrochemical complex in Pata and has a 16.56 mmtpa LNG portfolio, which constitutes 61% of India’s total LNG imports.
Gail has reported a clear profit consolidated La2,491.76 Crore for MY25’s January-March quarter, La2,468.71 Crore in the previous quarter.
Gail shares LaIn BSE on Monday, 183.65, it increases by 0.93% of the previous closing.
