India, EU Conclude FTA Negotiations: Commerce Secretary

New Delhi: India and the European Union (EU) have successfully completed negotiations on the proposed free trade agreement, Commerce Minister Rajesh Agrawal said on Monday.
He said that from Indian perspective, the trade agreement is balanced and forward-looking and it will help India’s better economic integration with the EU.
He said this would encourage trade and investments in both economies.
“The negotiations were concluded successfully. The deal has been completed,” Agrawal said. he said.
He said that the legal clearance of the FTA text is ongoing and efforts will be made to complete the processes and sign the agreement at an early date.
The agreement is expected to be signed this year and could enter into force early next year.
