Gangrape Victim Assaulted by Truck Driver While Trying to Escape
BHUBANESWAR: This can be thought of as a good ‘unthinkable nature’ crime. A girl who was first kidnapped by three young people in the Malgangiri area of Odisha and ‘gangraped’ was subjected to sexual atrocities by a truck driver she approached for help.
The defendants were also arrested by the local police and sent to jail.
According to the police, the girl was kidnapped by three young people on the way home after joining the evening prayers at a local place of worship. Young people took him to a deserted house and raped one after another.
The girl somehow marked a truck driver for help, after she managed to escape the perpetrators’ clutch and reached a nearby road. Instead of providing a girl’s assistance and protection, the truck driver took him to a forest 15 km away from the first crime point and tried to rape him. Some local people identified the terrible action of the driver and saved the girl.
After being warned by the locals, the police reached the point and caught the driver. She was rescued and she was delivered to her family after consulting.
Malgangiri Police Officer (SP) Vinodh Patil H shared the details about the incident on Tuesday, while the police’s daughter said that he took action after being informed by the villagers who rescued the driver’s grains and arrested all the defendants in only six hours.
SP, “a lawsuit was registered under the appropriate law departments and all the defendants were forwarded to the court. We are working carefully to create a strong lawsuit against the defendants,” he said.
