Gangsters, genocide and gagging dissent

As Trump’s plans for world domination go into overdrive, managing editor Michelle Pini discusses the collapse of international law, the silencing of those who speak out, and the forces fueling Anti-Semitism RC.

THE SO-CALLED rule-based order has finally collapsed.

It could be argued that this happened some time ago, but never before has the self-proclaimed defender of the free world publicly admitted to resorting to kidnapping and murder for the sole purpose of stealing oil.

You may be thinking, but most of the recent conflicts have been about this. Of course, but even George W Bush was honorable enough to argue otherwise, at least during the War on Terror, with a massive history of “weapons of mass destruction” purchased by much of the Western world.

The convicted criminal in the White House, who has not paid the price for his crimes so far, shamelessly admitted that the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores de Maduro, which led to the killing of approximately 100 people in clear violation of international law, was entirely related to oil. Venezuelan officials said most of Maduro’s security detail was killed “in cold blood.”

In any reasonable universe, such brazen tyranny would be more insane than anyone could imagine, but insanity aside, Trump in question Venezuela will transfer 30 to 50 million barrels of oil to the USA:

“…It will be picked up by storage ships and brought directly to discharge ports in the United States… [to] It will be sold at market price, and this money will be controlled by me as President of the United States to ensure that it is used for the benefit of the people of Venezuela and the United States!’

Of course, Trump also made up some stories about all of Venezuela being a drug cartel or some such obvious fantasy, but surely everyone except the Kool-Aid-addicted MAGA supporters who inexplicably got him re-elected stopped listening to his ramblings around the time he incited the Capitol riots. We don’t know if anyone has been following the lies since he was re-elected, but based on with Washington PostThe number of false or misleading claims made by Trump during his final term in office reached 30,573.

As Chris Hedges recently explained Chris Hedges Report:

‘The kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife strengthens America’s role as a gangster state. Violence does not create peace. It produces violence. ‘The sacrifice of international and humanitarian law, as by the US and Israel in Gaza and Caracas, creates a lawless world, a world of failed states, warlords, rogue imperial powers and perpetual violence and chaos.’

Hedges added:

‘If there is one lesson we must learn from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, it is that regime change creates Frankenstein monsters of our own making. The Venezuelan army and security forces, like the Iraqi security forces and army or the Taliban, will no longer accept the kidnapping of their President and US sovereignty (done to seize large oil reserves, as in Iraq). This won’t go well for anyone, including the United States.’

Indeed, there is already great discontent with the United States in South America. Che Guevara and with multiple US political interventions on this continent built up over many years, this latest and indefensible attack may well backfire on the Father state.

We can’t even expect the latest disgusting and violent oil grab to be America’s last act of aggression in a month. There hasn’t even been time to properly identify those killed in the US attack on Venezuela, and Trump is already talking about his next step towards world domination, this time in Europe.

Trump stated that the US will get Greenland one way or another with the White House announces On Tuesday:

‘The President and his team are discussing a range of options to achieve this important foreign policy goal, and of course using the US military is always an option at the commander-in-chief’s disposal.’

However, it is important to note that, as Chris Hedges reminds us in a speech: last interview with meA.Trump is merely a symptom, not the actual disease;“corporate coup in slow motion.

The disease is the rise in power of wealthy elites who control the money and thus the narrative, engineering an environment in which a mad despot can be thrust into the highest office on the planet. An environment where violence begets more violence and where gangsters (because that’s what they are) worship only profit, rule with seemingly unstoppable force, and plunder the world’s riches while answering to no one.

Closer to home, those who support gangsters continue to ignore the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza, any acts of terrorism committed by white people, such as the attack on a Christchurch mosque by a white Australian terrorist, and widespread injustices such as those against Robodebt victims. But they are shedding bloody tears about a heinous act of terrorism in Bondi, demanding royal commissions and, presumably, the return of the guillotine for those who didn’t have a crystal ball to foresee the tragic event.

And now Prime Minister Albanese has caved in and announced A. Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion. It is important to say here that the murderous actions of the father-son terrorists against the innocent victims in Bondi were truly monstrous. But it is difficult to see how a royal commission could explain or prevent such events.

In fact, it is difficult to see how an investigation that focuses specifically on antisemitism but ignores Islamophobia, for example, could prevent future acts of terrorism against people, Jewish or non-Jewish, or do anything other than give further advantage to the political actors who carry out these attacks. attempted to exploit A tragic event to divide us.

And another journalist and activist, Murray Hunter (a long-running World War II veteran).A. contributor), meanwhile, the latest Australian arrested and faces criminal defamation charges in Thailand for ‘allegedly criticizing the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s role in internet censorship and intimidating Malaysian citizens’. Because in this new world order, talking about oppression catapults you to public enemy number one status (think Julian Assange), which can only be solved by getting your mouth shut quickly.

In Australia, gagging is not always carried out by imprisoning people; It can also be tried in a number of other ways, such as dismissal (as in the case of Antoinette Lattouf) or protracted legal battles (as in the case of Mary Kostakidis).

As a nation of only 27 million people, we cannot realistically do much about a gangster state headed by a deranged madman who has access to the nuclear codes and pirates the world’s riches for the sole benefit of said gangsters.

We alone may not be able to stop another gangster state benefiting from the protection blackmail spoils of its alliance with the former gangster state while continuing to wipe out the entire indigenous population of Gaza.

We may not even be able to prevent the unlawful detention of our own citizens abroad.

But surely we can stop pretending that all this is okay and at least call it out. We can certainly sever our obvious ties with the main gangster state, starting with the AUKUS agreement.

We can stop aiding and abetting genocide by taking dirty money for arms sales to Israel or uranium sales to the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, or wherever.

And when one of us, like Murray Hunter, is arrested for the “crime” of calling out oppression, we can certainly make a lot of noise at every opportunity. Hopefully, unlike Julian Assange, Murray won’t have to wait a decade for his freedom.
