Ganja cultivation drops in ASR district as farmers shift to sustainable practices

In a significant development before the ‘international day against drug addiction and illegal smuggling on June 26, Visakha Range Security Inspector (DIG) Gopinath Jatti (DIG) announced that the cultivation of ganga in the agency areas of the Alluri Sitharama Raju Region witnessed a major decrease.

The DIG tied the fall to a large -scale sustainable agricultural practices of farmers.

The excavation pointed out that Ganja was grown in thousands of acres in tribal pockets, an air study of 14,870 acres in 327 villages, 38 villages spread in 38 villages, only 93 acres of ganga breeding defined.

“These small and scattered ganga crops were also destroyed and reserved in accordance with the NDPS law,” Jatti said.

Jatti, who addressed the media on Wednesday, said the police focused on three main areas to fight the Ganga issue.

Only last year, DIG said that the administration distributed 4.68 million saplings of 22 species of 10.803.25 acres for the Lord season.

Approximately 10,256 farmers from 20 latches have moved to sustainable products from Ganga farming. In addition, 4,496 Quintal Rajma Seeds were distributed between 35,618 farmers in regions known for ganga cultivation.

Jatti, referring to the consumption direction, said that community -based strategies, including monthly inter -departments, formation of committees at village level and awareness campaigns in educational institutions. “Last year, a 10,654 awareness campaign was held in 3,039 educational institutions. The police set up 376 anonymous drops for information about the NDP cases. Nineteen Dron, together with special NDPS patrols, was deployed to protect the supervision of consumption temperatures,” he said.

To prevent smuggling of Ganga, the police set up 26 control panels equipped with CCTVs and 289 dynamic control points in the vulnerable area. Nine -trained dog units will help to identify cases. Last year, the police said that the police arrested the smuggling gang between 25 states and between 44 regions.

As a part of financial pressures, the police added 9.76 CRORE PROPERTS OF THE DEFENSES IN THE CASE OF THE NDPS Law, and sent a powerful message that the assets acquired through illegal drug trafficking will be confiscated.
