Gareth Ward to oppose motion that would force him out of parliament
The lawyers for the convicted rapist deputy Gareth Ward asked for a precaution to prevent the expulsion from the parliament, which for now – for now – he will remain as a deputy in Kiama when he was in Silverwater prison.
Prime Minister Chris Minns confirmed that Ward’s lawyers took a precautionary measure against the lower parliamentary leader on Tuesday.

Minns told 2GB Radio, “You have a week -long parliament to sit and I think most people will appreciate it, it is mindless to have someone who is sitting in prison in Silverwater, convicted of serious sexual crimes, who wants to remain as a parliamentary member.” He said.
The NSW lower parliament would be expelled from the ward from Parliament on Tuesday, but it would be postponed until Wednesday after the former liberal minister expressed his concerns about procedural justice of lawyers.
Since 2011, Kiama Deputy Ward was found guilty of a number of sexual intercourse without consent to two young men whom he had faced with a parliamentary role last month.
The 44 -year -old bail was canceled last Wednesday, but did not resign his seat in Parliament and asked Hoenig to write to Ward and asked the legislative council to give any explanation or material before any movement to expel him.
Ward’s lawyers responded to Hoenig, but the details of the correspondence were not announced. His lawyers did not respond when he was contacted for a comment.
In addition to the support of labor, movement has the principle support from the coalition. Opposition leader Mark Speakman said he would want to see legal advice before making a final decision on the deportation movement.
