Gavin Newsom spox tells reporter ‘f— off’ when asked for dyslexia records

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s chief spokesman lashed out at a reporter Monday, demanding medical records documenting his dyslexia diagnosis.

“Hi Susan, thanks for reaching out,” Newsom’s communications director Izzy Gardon wrote, according to a screenshot of the Crabtree email. shared In X.
“With all due respect, dammit,” Gardon said to Crabtree.
Fox News Digital asked Gardon whether he was speaking personally or on behalf of Newsom and whether he approved the response to Crabtree. Gardon said, “Yes, Susan can escape.” he replied.
Asked if that sentiment was shared by Newsom himself, Gardon said, “The Governor has literally no idea who Susan is.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Crabtree claimed that a book he co-authored last year about corruption in California “bothered Mr. Gardon.”
“Californians and all Americans deserve real answers about Newsom’s allegations, not the lazy, profanity-filled deflections and hand gestures of a politician from a failed state who wants to be president,” Crabtree said. “I will continue to ask the tough questions despite this vitriolic taxpayer-funded attempt to intimidate me.”

The likely 2028 Democratic hopeful went viral at a book tour event in Atlanta on Sunday for comments that critics said were “racist.”
“I’m, you know, I’m not trying to impress you, I’m just trying to impress you, I’m like you. I’m not better than you,” Newsom told Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who is black, during an exchange.
“You know, I have a 960 SAT score. And, you know, I’m not trying to offend anyone, ‘I’m trying to act there if you get a 940,'” Newsom continued. “A guy with a real 960 SAT score, you’ve never seen me read a speech. Because I can’t read a speech. Maybe it’s the wrong business to be in.”
