Gaza ceasefire may take more time, says Israeli

Israeli officials say that the gaps between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas in the peace talks in Qatar can be bridged, but it may take more than a few days to reach an agreement for free hostages and stop the struggle.
After saying that US President Donald Trump said last week, a new US -backed proposal could lead to an agreement, delegations from Israel and Hamas have been renovated for an agreement since Sunday.
Trump met with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening, and strongly opposed all major Palestinian groups to move some of Gaza’s inhabitants abroad. The Israeli leader also presented Trump a letter to the Nobel Peace Prize.
Qatari spokesman Majed Al Ansari said in a statement on Tuesday that Qatar and Egyptian mediators have not yet discussed the last ceasefire agreement, but still looking for an agreement on a principles that would lead to more detailed negotiations.
Al Ansari, “Negotiations have not yet started, but we talk to both sides within this framework.” He said.
“Both sides are still in Doha. So this is always a good sign.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Monday, Trump’s ambassador Steve Witkoff, who played an important role in preparing the latest cease -fire offer, will go to Doha this week.
The proposal envisages the gradual release of hostages, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza regions and the discussion of the war completely.
On Tuesday, there was no new reading during the talks from Hamas or Palestinian sources. Palestinian sources said on Monday that Israel has progressed by the limits of allowing humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
Israeli Minister Zeev Elkin, who was sitting in the security cabinet of Netanyahu, said that a ceasefire would be accepted as “an important chance”.
“Hamas wants to change the subject, not simple, but there’s progress,” Israel’s public publisher said to Kan on Tuesday.
Washington told journalists that the briefing senior Israeli officials said that concluding agreements in Doha could last for more than a few days. Another Israeli official said progress has been achieved.

Israel’s next campaign against Hamas in Gaza has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians since then, according to local health authorities, it has displaced the entire population of more than two million people, led to a human crisis in Enclave and left the region in ruins.
