Matt, “Everything needs to be looked at. Sir David Amess – I knew him well and his life was an incredible individual.
“But when you hear stories. It wasn’t missed once – it was a series of mistakes that allowed such individuals to pass through the network. Basically, it was broken. We need to correct it in a way that is not again.”
Dawn put pressure on him and said: “But why didn’t you do anything about it when I was in power?”
“This report found these flaws in black and white and objectively, and found what was going wrong and kidnapped opportunities. Nevertheless, 93% of terrorism in this country are the result of Islamic terrorism.
Matt added: “Prevention is constantly examined and examined. Today we have evidence. They have found real failures. This has not been on such a scale before.”
The investigation was launched after the murder of Deputy Sir David Amess and last year after the murder of three young girls in Merseyside Southport. Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice da Silva Aguiar and Bebe King were killed by Axel Rudakubana and died on July 29, 2024.
It turned out that 18 -year -old Rudakubana has been referred to an anti -governmentalism plan known as prevention, three times before the murders took place. Each time it was evaluated, it was not accepted as a risk of terrorism and was not declared as a matter of interest in MI5.
