Gen Z is heading to Texas

Generation Z is moving to Texas in large numbers, and MovingPlace research shows Dallas is the group attracting the most attention. The study says young workers are leaving places like California, New Jersey and Minnesota, prioritizing tech job centers, entry-level job openings and affordable housing in major metros. Texas experienced the highest influx: 5,081 Gen Zers are moving in, while 3,555 are moving out. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington led city gains with 484 points, ahead of Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands with 247 points and Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos with 230 points. MovingPlace also marked the Dallas zip code 75204 for its mix of downtown and uptown apartments, restaurants, entertainment, public transportation, and bicycle infrastructure.
