Geordie Shore’s Holly Hagan announces the death of her 19-year-old sister Darci Rose and says her family are ‘traumatised in every sense of the word’

Holly Hagan announced the death of her 19-year-old sister Darci Rose on Instagram.

The former Geordie Shore star, 33, released a statement on Tuesday saying his family was “literally traumatised”.

In her post, she thanked ambulance services and Manchester Royal Infirmary for giving her sister the ‘best chance’.

Living mostly out of the spotlight, half-sisters Holly and Darci share mother Vicki but different fathers.

Holly wrote in her post: ‘It is indescribable pain and sadness that our little girl, my little sister Darci Rose, passed away peacefully, holding my hand, surrounded by her family and best friends. He didn’t suffer at all.

‘The last four days have been something I never thought any family would have to experience. We are traumatized in every sense of the word. One day we will share Darci’s story.

‘But for now I ask that you please respect our privacy and allow us to process what happened.

‘To the incredible ambulance team and everyone at Manchester royal infirmary ASE and ICU, thank you so much for giving my sister the absolute best chance.

‘Thanks to you, we had the opportunity to hold her hand, caress her hair and feel her heartbeat for the last time. We will be forever grateful for the care you gave him and us throughout this unimaginable process.

‘My job right now is to support my family in any way I can to ensure they don’t have to worry about work/finances.

‘All the posts you see this month have been pre-recorded and pre-scheduled. I will continue to work so they don’t have to.

‘Darci is so beautiful and she really didn’t even realize it. I always told her she would look better without her huge spider lashes but we all know what a hypocrite I was since I wore 9 pairs when I was her age!

‘Darci was living in her world, forgetting to turn off the lights, didn’t know how to lock the doors when she went out at night, left the freezer open so Mum stumbled upon a puddle of defrosted food.

‘She was the best aunt, Alpha-Jax adored her. He spent his entire birthday in the bouncy castle with AJ and Alba and it’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.

‘After discovering her passion for helping children, she wanted to go into social work. And I know she takes care of all the babies out there

‘I don’t know if I behaved the way I assumed I would when grieving, but I really feel like he gave me so much strength and watches over us all as our guardian angel. We love you very much, daughter. ‘Forever 19.’

In 2021, Holly wrote a sweet message to her sister for her 16th birthday.

Sharing a series of photos they took together, the artist wrote in the caption: ‘Happy 16th birthday to my not-so-little sister Darci. ‘I love you so much, my twin.’

Holly has previously mentioned Darci in her autobiography.

In her book Not Quite A Geordie, Holly wrote: ‘I loved my sister Darci when she was born but she was too young for me to bother with her at that stage.

‘It was only when he got a little older that I was able to really enjoy having fun with him while I babysat.

‘But when he was first born he was crying and screaming and keeping the whole house awake. Honestly he was the worst baby ever. I don’t think you’ve slept in two years!

‘She was screaming loud and bloodcurdling all night long.’

Under her post about Darci’s death, her friends also offered words of support.

Her Geordie Shore co-star Nathan Henry wrote: ‘Holly, I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Sending love and hugs to you all xxxxxx.’

Kelsey Parked wrote: ‘sending you so much love xxxx.’

Charlotte Crosby said: ‘I’m so lucky to know such a beautiful girl! Alpha Jax’s birthday is how I will remember your beautiful sister Darci. Alba spent all day playing with it!

‘Darci naturally gravitated towards him because he radiates warmth and sunshine! Very kind and caring. Reading this article broke my heart. ‘I love you so much Holly, I send lots of love to your mum and John.’

Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips said: ‘Oh holy I can’t believe what I’m reading. I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss, I’m sending you all the love and prayers in the world xxxxxxx.’

Holly is married to footballer Jacob Blyth

They welcomed their son Alpha-Jax, now two years old, in June 2023.

TOWIE’s Amber Turner said: ‘I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m sending my love and prayers to you and your family.’

Holly’s friend and former co-star Sophie Kasaei commented: ‘A family should never have to go through something like this. I wish I could take this pain away from my gorgeous Holly. Darci was and still is an angel and will always guide you and your family.

‘You have a strength that I admire and I am so proud of you for keeping the family together. I love you endlessly and we will be by your side through this painful journey. Our Angel, Beautiful Darci.’

Holly is married to footballer Jacob Blyth. They welcomed their son Alpha-Jax, now two years old, in June 2023.

She rose to fame in 2011, when she was just 18, on the reality TV series Geordie Shore.
