George Russell fends off Max Verstappen to win Canadian GP where McLarens collide

Mercedes driver George Russell hired Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the fourth career racing win, while McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris collided on Sunday in Canada Grand Prix.

Russell started at the pole for the second year in Montreal, and most of the race was an advantage in a sunny afternoon in Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The British driver won the fourth race this year and joined Formula 1 leader Piastri, Norris and Verstappen.

Mercedes Çaylak Kimi Antonelli, after passing Piastri on the opening round, took third behind Verstappen.
