Sanjay Kumar Singh takes charge as interim CMD of NHPC

NHPC’s Director (Projects) Sanjay Kumar Singh was appointed as the temporary president and general manager of the hydroelectric company operated by the state (CMD).
The Ministry of Power approved the appointment on Monday after the retirement of Rajendra Prasad, who has been serving as CMD since July. Singh will serve until a month or a full -time cmd is called.
Singh has been working as a director (projects) since July 24, 2024, and both NHPC has been chaired by NHPC’s subsidiaries NHPC Renewable Energy LTD and Jalpower Corporation LTD boards. Ratle is a candidate for joint ventures in the Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd and Chenab Valley Power Projects Ltd, NHPC and JAMMU and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Ltd (JKSPDCL).
According to a statement made by the company, as the director of NHPC LTD (projects), during the term of office, significant progress in the 800 MW Pārbati-II Hydroelectric Project and Subaransiri sub-hydroelectric Project (2,000 MW) and other ongoing projects of the company have made significant progress.
In addition, between August 8, 2024 – 16 April 2025, the director (technical) made the additional accusation of NHPC. Singh, engineering (civil) undergraduate degree (civil) and more than 33 years of experience, Singh previously worked as the General Manager of SJVN LTD and NHPC Director.
Temporary Finance Director
In addition to its current duties and functions, the government appointed Sipan Kumar Garg as NHPC Temporary Manager (Finans) as of Monday. For three months or a full -time official, or whichever comes first, he will hold up to more ordering.
Garg is the director of the ThDC India Ltd (finance), a subsidiary of NTPC LTD, which is currently a power major of another state major.
NHPC shares in BSE on Monday La78.55 increases 1.6% from the previous closing.
