GHMC takes up project to remove beggars from city’s junctions

After a seven -year gap, the Büyük Haydarabad Municipality company once again launched a project to address the issue of beggars close to traffic signals throughout the city.

For the last few days, private teams from the urban community development wing identifies people who send them to their family members or shelter houses near the great intersections.

In addition to various religious places, a total of 221 beggars have been identified in various circles, especially in various circles near Basheerbagh, Secretariat, Nampally and Begum Bazar. 173 of them were male, 37 women and 11 children. Note, a total of 19 beggars were sent to various shelter houses operated by GHMC after the medical examination, while the rest were sent to their local places or families after consulting.

GHMC executes special drivers from time to time towards beggar Fee City, defining beggars and homeless people during this time and shifting to GHMC shelter homes. During an earlier driving in 2018, thousands of identified people were taken to a rehabilitation shelter in coordination with prisons whose livelihood skills were given.
