Biden prostate cancer battle worries friends amid fatigue reports

Joe Biden’s friends are said to be concerned about the former president, who is battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to reports.

While his aides described him as being in good condition, others reportedly expressed increasing fatigue as a concern and said it was related to Biden’s medical treatment.

Accordingly Washington PostFour friends who met with Biden in recent months said they had not received any updates regarding his health condition.

However, they told the press that Biden had appeared more tired at times over the past few weeks, which was attributed to the type of cancer he was managing and its treatment.

But a fifth person said Biden was active and engaged and remained “encouraged and positive about the course of the disease due to his positive response to treatment.”

Aides also maintained that the 83-year-old man was doing well and was continuing his work, including writing his memoirs and preparing for his upcoming public appearance.

Biden is scheduled to travel to South Carolina on Feb. 27 to deliver remarks marking the sixth anniversary of his primary victory in the state.

In 2025, Biden’s office announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had metastasized to the bone; it’s a condition that medical experts consider “untreatable.”

At the time of the initial announcement, his office said the cancer was given a Gleason score of 9 on a scale of 6 to 10, making it among the most aggressive forms and more likely to spread rapidly and spread further into the spine.

Biden’s team said he received radiation treatment at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia on Oct. 11, 2025. He was already taking hormone therapy in pill form.

Biden rang the ceremonial bell after completing radiation treatment on October 20, 2025; Her daughter, Ashley, described the moment as a small celebration of her battle with the disease.

In September 2025, Biden also underwent surgery to remove several skin cancer lesions on his head.

Despite his diagnosis, Biden continued to attend important events.

He attended the funeral of Pope Francis in April 2025, and that November he attended the funeral of former vice president Dick Cheney. He also attended Tatiana Schlossberg’s funeral in January.
