GM University Assistant Professor Held For Allegedly Exploiting Student

BHUBANESWAR: GM University Deputy Sambalpur, on Thursday after promised to marry him, a female student was allegedly exploited sexually.

The defendant, who was described as Gopikant Suna from the university’s education department, was detained after a complaint made by a 20 -year -old second -year education license (B.ED) student.

Sambalpur Police Inspector Kupış Kumar Bhamoo confirmed the arrest and said that a lawsuit was recorded under the relevant sections of Bharatia Nagarik Nagarik Sanhita (BNSS). Currently, a detailed investigation continues.

According to police sources, the student in a rental accommodation in the Angulalane region of Sambalpur, on Wednesday at around 14.36 at around 14.36 first information report (FIR) opened. In his complaint, he claimed that Suna had emotionally manipulated him emotionally with the wrong marriage guarantees, but he had established a physical relationship with him to return later.

The student also claimed that he later learned that he had learned similar situations, including other female students who caused tremendous mental distress. The professor accused students of abuse of his official position to exploit.

Suna, a native of the village of Dahita under the borders of Boden police in the Bargarh region, joined the University of GM on December 18, 2023 as an assistant professor. At the time of his arrest, he stayed in Sambalpur’s Professor’s colony in the Budharaja region.

Following his arrest, he was produced in a local court in Sambalpur.
