KSU president meets Kerala CM

Amid controversy over the appointment of a government lawyer who allegedly had past links with the Students Federation of India (SFI), leaders of the Kerala Students Union (KSU), including president Aloshious Xavier, met Chief Minister VD Satheesan here on Monday. Mr. Xavier had been seeking the CM’s appointment since last week. The CM, who attended a public program at SH College in Thevara on Friday, was seen walking away even as Mr. Xavier waited to speak to him.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Mr Xavier said KSU was hopeful of a “very positive outcome” from the meeting. “The CM listened to us patiently and listened to all the concerns we raised. Now the decision has to be taken by the government. I cannot predict what this decision will be. We are waiting for a decision in the spirit of KSU. All ministers, including the CM, have been a part of KSU,” he said. Mr. Xavier said the ongoing issues need not be tied to the internal politics of the Congress.
A source from the Prime Ministry told Hindu He said no decision has been taken yet regarding KSU’s demands.
