Government launches logo design contest for VB-G RAM G Act

Ministry of Rural Development said: logo design competition Viksit Bharat Guarantee Act (VB-G RAM G) for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act was initiated.

The ministry said it aims to encourage public participation in the branding of the programme, which is a key pillar of the government’s rural development strategy in line with the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision.

The last date for submission of applications is March 20 and the winner will be given a cash prize of ₹50,000.

The logo should reflect the vision of a developed India, the ministry said in a post on X.

According to shared details MyGov The design selected on the portal will be adopted by the ministry for official and promotional use related to the Law and related programs. The competition seeks original logos that symbolize job creation, livelihood improvement and inclusive rural growth.

The Viksit Bharat — Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Guarantee (Gramin) Act, 2025 replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 and provides a statutory guarantee of paid employment for up to 125 days in a financial year to rural households whose adult members volunteer in unskilled manual labor.

Activists and opposition parties have criticized the VB G-RAM-G scheme, alleging that it weakens the rights-based framework of MGNREGA, could dilute legal employment security, and also claimed that the new scheme is more centralized than MGNREGA, which was prepared after wide consultations.

Meanwhile, the government claimed that the new Act will further strengthen rural employment guarantee by providing 125 days of work as compared to 100 days provided under MGNREGA.

The government also said the new framework aims to strengthen rural livelihoods, increase accountability and link job creation to resilient rural infrastructure and other development outcomes.
