Govt Aims To Make 1 Crore Women Crorepatis: MLA

-Warangal: Wardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju said that the primary target of the Congress government is to convert one crore women into crorepatis as the advancement of women is essential for social and national development. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Indiramma Mahila Shakti Sari Distribution program launched by Endowments Minister Konda Surekha through video conferencing in Hyderabad.

MLA Nagaraju, along with Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya, TSCAB president Marneni Ravinder Rao, Kuda president Enagala Venkatram Reddy and district collector Satya Sharada distributed sarees to Self Help Group (SHG) women at an event held at DCCB meeting hall in Hanamkonda on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagaraju praised the resilience of women and compared their patience to that of Mother Earth. An educated woman empowers the entire family, he said and added that the government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is committed to the welfare and empowerment of women.

He compared the new scheme with the previous BRS government’s schemes and claimed that the quality of saris distributed earlier was so poor that women used them for farm work. He said the available saris were of high quality and their production supported handloom weavers and contributed to stabilizing the state’s economy.

Nagaraju outlined the government’s broader plan to empower SHG women and help achieve the target of turning one crore women into crorepatis. The initiatives include interest-free loans for SHG members, support for women entrepreneurship through Indira Mahila Shakti programs and assistance in owning petrol depots, canteens, solar power plants and even RTC buses.

He also accused the previous BRS government of leaving the state in heavy debt and questioned the accumulation of agricultural lands and farmhouses by Kalvakuntla family members, implying corruption.
