₹29,353 crore spent to upgrade railway infrastructure in Bihar so far, says Vaishnaw

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in Lok Sabha, a statement for Bihar 86.107 Crore worth fifty -two railway project was implemented.

As in 31 new lines on April 1, a total of 4,663 km long indicator transformation and 20 times the project and the cost of 86.107 Crore, which fell completely or partly in Bihar, was implemented. In addition, 1,014 km line was commissioned and 29,353 Crore expenditures were made until March 2025.

The Minister said that Bihar’s railway budget has increased nine times in 11 years. Locking river bridges such as Munger, Patna and Kosi were completed. “These are mega bridges with longer openings requiring high nature expertise. Therefore, ITs and NITs were trying to control the designs and methodology of these bridges,” he said.

“Although these bridges are sanctioned long before 2014, but a significant progress in the construction of these bridges can only be achieved after 2014,” he added.

During the 2014-25 period, 558 road ovarians and lower ties (Robs/Rubs) were built in Bihar. In addition, in various stages of planning and execution in the state of 6,014 crore costs 218 robes and plains were sanctioned, he said.

Mr. Vaishnaw said that the Sheohar -Ssitamarhi railway project gained momentum. “Twenty Vande Bharat appeals to Bihar from 144 operations throughout the country. In addition, 10 of 14 Amrit Bharat Express services appeal to Bihar,” he said.

So far, 1,337 stations have been identified for development within the scope of this scheme, 98 stations are found in Bihar. So far, phase-i studies have been completed at Pirpainti and Thawe railway stations in Bihar. Minister, Sahara, Salauna, Luckeesarai, Gaya and Muzzafarpur stations continued to work, he said.
