Greens, Labor environment win is how politics should work

It was some relief to learn that Labor had chosen to work with the Greens to introduce long-awaited reforms into Australia’s environmental laws; although the Coalition seems to have forced them by rendering them completely useless.
Government leaders had nice things to say about the Greens as they laid out the concessions made to secure the party’s support, including new protections for local forests, removing the land-clearing exemption and blocking fast-track approvals for coal and gas in the legislation.
