Greens staffers and younger ranks aren’t happy with the party

The Socialist Alliance event in Perth a few months ago had a remarkably diverse turnout, particularly in terms of age. But I recognized a few young faces in the crowd, volunteers with the Western Australian Greens. It turned out that there were former volunteers.

“Where do you expect us to go?” someone told me in a private Instagram message a few days later. “I feel like this is where I’m supposed to be right now. I guess I was thinking the Greens were like that too.”
