Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel approves ₹212 crore for new bridge over Mahi River after Vadodara collapse

Five days after Gujarat’s collapse in the Vadodara region, he demanded 20 lives and the search continued for a missing person, while Prime Minister Bhupendra Patel approved La 212 Crore for the construction of a new high -level bridge on the Mahi River near Mujpur.
The new bridge will be built parallel to the collapsed structure and connecting Padra and Anklav.

The roads and buildings department prepared a detailed project report after conducting a survey of the proposed site. The government said it aims to reclaim the connection between the new bridge, Gujarat and Saurashtra, and to facilitate travel difficulties for local passengers and students following the incident.
Inspector engineer NV Rathva said that the existing two -lane approach near Mujpur will be expanded on four lanes with a width of 7 meters. In addition, a stretch of 4.2 km from the highway to the new bridge will be upgraded to four strips.
Administrative sanctions were given to the new bridge project and the tender process has already started. The goal of completion is 18 months.
