GVMC to Take Up Dog-Catching Drive for Safety of Sanitation Staff

Visakhapatnam: GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg directed the emergency action to address the issue of street dogs that block sanitation workers during midnight cleaning operations. During a surprise review at the Poorna Market at the Region 4, he witnessed the difficulties faced by the authorized sanitation personnel and made sure that quick measures would be taken to ensure their safety.

He emphasized the importance of normal night inspections to monitor urban cleaning, which had previously carried out one in Diamond Park and Shangaramatham regions on July 23rd.

During the visit, Garg received information about waste transportation to sanitation employees through working routines, equipment, uniforms and applause. The workers expressed their concerns about street dogs that cause fear and eliminate their duties. In an empathic response, he called on to continue the actions that promised them to control the dog threat with devotion and safely.

The commissioner instructed Dr. N. Kishore Kumar to start a night dog capture operations to prevent further deduction. Accordingly, on Saturday morning, street dogs near Poorna Market were caught, vaccinated and moved to determined safe zones.

Dr. Kishore Kumar confirmed that at night, ongoing efforts to manage the street dog population at night confirmed that both the sanitation staff and the public.
