U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio tours the new Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) opened by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on October 17 in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, about 32 km (20 miles) from Gaza. Speaking at a press conference during his visit to Israel, Rubio stated that the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) “cannot play a role in Gaza” and described it as a “subsidiary of Hamas”.
