‘Hardline’ BMA blocks emergency pleas for strike doctors to work

The NHS bosses criticized the British Medical Association for a “increasingly challenging” approach to reject the emergency demands of striking doctors in the UK.

There is a system known as ‘derogation’ that NHS may ask for resident doctors, Participating in a five -day strikePassing the pile line where patient safety is at risk.

As of Sunday evening, this strike was rejected by hospitals for 18 requests – the twelfth – nine in the long -standing wage dispute.

Although BMA is ready to respond to emergency situations, weak planning and forcing to continue to maintain non -emergency on this strike extended the staff too much.

However, the NHS UK accused the Association of Doctors of risking security and criticized the “Far BMA Panel” for the “second estimate” doctors on the ground trying to look at patients.

A central committee of senior BMA doctors make decisions about each derogation demand.

NHS, England, said he was particularly worried about a series of demands for rejection of cancer care.

And he said that BMA was sitting for hours for hours – there are 20 more waiting for decisions.

And the source said some of them were rejected because hospitals would not pay premium rates to return to striking doctors.

Before this strike started, the BMA accepted only five derogations during the whole dispute.

Settled doctors, the new name of small doctors, are the largest medical staff in NHS and represent half of the workforce. It includes everyone from the new ones to doctors with experiences for up to 10 years.

It comes because Royal Nursing College announces the results of the game on payment Members are expected to call more than 3.6% increase..

Since RCN has previously had a lower increase than nurses, RCN will have previously described RCN as a “grotesque” after a “overwhelming” rejection.

This does not block the payment award, but it increases the likelihood of the union to vote for an official strike later in the year.

Among the derogation demands adopted by BMA, there was a doctor to work in the newborn intensive care unit of Nottingham City Hospital at the weekend.

The three BMA members also run an emergency service night shift at the North General in Sheffield.

However, BMA rejected a doctor’s request to perform prostate cancer controls by Milton Keynes Hospital. In this case, the BBC realizes that a doctor returns to work under his own will.

Dr. Melissa Ryan and Dr Ross Nieuwoudt, the co -leaders of BMA doctor, said: “Patient security continues to be our highest priority during the strike action.

He continued: “Hospitals are deeply irresponsible for hospitals to use it to facilitate non -emergency care or cover it for bad planning on behalf of their own.”

They said that BMA was working all over the day to evaluate the requests, but some of them “provide confusing, inappropriate or inadequate information”.

The King’s College Hospital in London accepted a derogation after saying that BMA had a “fake surrender” about the personnel levels of BMA and was later canceled for the radiology department.

However, the hospital said that he was acting in good faith and that he had taken BMA to evaluate the demand that he managed to find a cover from another place.

NHS said that the UK sources were particularly disappointed by the refusal of the national organization for examining every demand from hospitals to provide a consistency in the approach between different places.

They said that every request was based on “meticulous evaluation”.

“We definitely recognize people’s right to strike, but we know that it is necessary to serve as much service as possible for patients.”

The five -day strike of resident doctors is expected to last up to 07:00 BST on Wednesday.
