Harish Says Committee Detrimental To Telangana Interests

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Friday said setting up of a committee by the Union jal shakti ministry to study inter-state water dispute techniques is proof of how Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has betrayed Telangana’s river water interests.

In his statement, Harish Rao said that the absence of anyone from the inter-state water resources wing from Telangana in the committee indicates the potential for serious danger to the interests of the state.

“The Chief Minister’s attitude has now paved the way for AP’s Polavaram-Nallamalasagar link project. He was the one who accepted the joint committee. There are two IAS officers and two engineers from AP, while from Telangana there are three IAS officers and one engineer in the committee. One of the AP engineers has experience in inter-state water resources issues but there is no one from Telangana with the same experience in the committee,” he said.

“The fact that the committee came to a conclusion within three months is a clear indication that AP’s project is almost a done deal. This is a deliberate act of Revanth Reddy that harms Telangana,” Harish Rao said.
