“We’ve combined a lot of things, but it’s pick-up and play, and so whether it’s a shot from almost out of bounds or half-court from the stands and all the interaction, you’re going to have the wow factor, which I think is important for a guy who wants to sit down and play a little bit away from his couch,” Jeff Jarrett, pro wrestling legend and founder of the revived Acclaim company, told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.
“We’re going to integrate as many elements as we can, and it’s a lot of fun. At the end of the day, you come to the Harlem Globetrotters show live, just like the game, we want you to have fun and have fun.”
Jarrett has been known for decades mostly for his skill in the squared circle. But it was his love of basketball that put him on the path to starting another Globetrotters game.
The current All Elite Wrestling star said that even before professional wrestling, his first “true love” was basketball.

“But the Globetrotters are a completely different story to me,” he explained. “I could remember going to Meadowlark as a little kid with Lemon and Curly (Neal) and all the famous players, I wanted to be like them because of the swagger, the style, the showmanship and the game of basketball. We celebrate with the whole world because it’s so far from the basketball that is the Globetrotter brand.”
“This centennial celebration, the 100th year, I think it’s really incredible because a lot of people don’t understand. When you look at the DNA, the first team to be inducted into the Naismith (Basketball) Hall of Fame wasn’t a team that went undefeated, it was the Harlem Globetrotters…
“So when you combine the game of basketball in its truest sense, but then you combine showmanship and a lot of people, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, whatever, you have goal celebrations, dunk celebrations, slap shots and things like that. The Globetrotters are really at the vanguard of sports entertainment when it comes to so many things, not just the world of basketball.”
Basketball fans will be able to pick up an arcade-style game and have the opportunity to complete the entire season, play with friends or dazzle the crowd.
