The King, who recently celebrated his 77th birthday, was honored at a lavish party organized by the British consulate in New York City last week. The event, hosted by JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon at the bank’s swanky new headquarters downtown, was filled with talk of its upcoming 250th anniversary plans.

The famous couple maintain their titles despite not working
The famous couple continue to make the most of their royal titles despite their non-working situation; As evidenced by a recent profile of Markle in which she was declared “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” by a house manager to a journalist interviewing her for Harper’s Bazaar.
The rift between Harry, 41, and his older brother William remains deep and the pair have not spoken for more than two years.
Although Harry told the BBC he wanted to make peace with his family and said he didn’t want to fight anymore because he wasn’t sure how much time he had with his father, the damage caused by his and Meghan’s bombshell interviews, reality TV show and tell-all autobiography left the royal family unable to trust them enough to welcome them back into the fold.
Trump’s disdain for Harry and Meghan
Meanwhile, President Trump has made no secret of his disdain for Harry and Meghan. Asked about the possibility of Harry being deported for admitting to drug use, Trump had previously joked: “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s awful.”
Charles strengthens UK-US ties with unprecedented second State visit
In a sign of strengthening ties between the UK and the US, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were granted an unprecedented second State visit in September, including a state banquet at Windsor Castle where Trump sat next to the dazzling Kate Middleton, whom he mistakenly calls the Queen.
At the event, Charles praised Trump’s personal commitment to “finding solutions to some of the world’s most intractable conflicts” and emphasized the deep connections between the two countries and the need to maintain cultural, commercial and military ties.
Underlining the special relationship between the two countries, the King said, “Our people fought together and died together for the values we hold dear.” he said.
As the US prepares for its 250th birthday celebrations, the Royal Family’s planned visit is aimed at strengthening already strong ties between the two countries, but it looks like Harry and Meghan will be watching from the sidelines.
