‘He murdered his own people!’ Kuenssberg lashes out at Polanski | Politics | News

Green Party leader Zack Polanski has been criticized for condemning American and Israeli military strikes while ignoring the Iranian regime that is massacring its own people.

Far-left leader accused Donald Trump The killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “at the negotiating table”.

And Mr Polanski said Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer should go on television to criticize US attacks on Tehran.

Israel and the US launched 900 attacks in 12 hours on military bases, nuclear sites and government buildings across Iran, using F-35s, F-22s and, for the first time, one-way attack drones.

Donald Trump announced that Ali Khamenei was killed in the attacks.

But Mr. Polanski sensationally called for negotiations with the Iranian regime, even though they have killed thousands of protesters demanding regime change.

BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg asked Mr Polanski: “What would your alternative be? Obviously you don’t like it, but Israel and America have done the math, it seems obvious.”

“If it took striking to end an oppressive regime, it was worth it. So what would your alternative be? Well, I don’t accept the presupposition of the question.”

A squirming Mr. Polanski said: “I don’t think there should have been an attack, because in fact Iran was already at the negotiating table, we saw progress with Iran under President Obama. Donald Trump took them to the negotiating table, but it was clear that it was in pure bad faith, because they literally killed the leader at the negotiating table at the same time.”

Ms. Kuenssberg shot back: “But that leader killed most of his own people just weeks ago, and if you look at Iran’s course over the years, yes, there have been negotiations, but the international nuclear watchdog, for example, has scolded and scolded Iran many times for breaking its rules. Iran supports Russia against Ukraine, Iran has also planned conspiracies in that country. So what earthly evidence do you have that Iran will say: “Oh, okay, actually, we’ll listen to you this time?”

And Mr. Polanski insisted: “I hear no way to defend the Iranian regime. I’m here to defend and talk about the Iranian people.”

The BBC presenter continued: “But the question is why do you think negotiation might be an option here? What evidence do you have on what has failed for decades?”

And the far-left leader said: “By refusing to negotiate for the time being, you have accepted that you will go to war, and I don’t think the British people want to see another war in that area.”
