Hamas Will Have ‘Very Big Problem’ If Israel-Palestine Peace Deal Is Violated: Trump | World News

United States President Donald Trump on Sunday expressed confidence in achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, while warning Hamas that it would face serious consequences if the ceasefire agreement with Israel is violated.

“I think the ceasefire will hold. If it doesn’t, we’ll deal with Hamas. It won’t be hard to deal with Hamas very quickly. I hope it goes for Hamas too because they’ve given us their world on something, so I think it’ll continue, and if it doesn’t hold, then they’re going to have a very big problem,” Trump said during his interaction with reporters on Air Force One.

President Trump also underlined the broad support for the peace plan, with many agreeing to join the Stabilization Force to help keep peace in the region.

When asked why he thought this peace plan would be valid unlike the others, Trump noted how “everyone agreed” to the plan this time and considered the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities as a pivotal moment that made the deal possible.

“A year ago, this would have been very difficult. I think the most important thing was that when we phased out the nuclear power in Iran, we also eliminated the nuclear capacity, which would happen in the next month to two months. That made a big difference in the Middle East. It made it possible to get the deal done,” he said.

President Trump is traveling to Malaysia to attend the ASEAN summit and reaffirm ties with countries in the Asian region. He stayed at Al-Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. Trump said, “He (the Emir of Qatar) is a great man and a great leader. He was a great help to us. It was very nice of him to come. We were refueling and he came. He was very, very nice. He’s a great guy. He’s also a great gentleman. We talked about peace in the Middle East. We have great peace in the Middle East. He thinks it’s permanent. He’s never seen anything like it. He’s very happy to have me involved.”

We are talking about the International Stabilization Force (ISF). Trump noted that its deployment is pretty close to countries that are “choosing leaders right now.”

“I want our farmers to be taken care of. He wants some things, too. Of course we’re going to talk about fentanyl. Fentanyl kills a lot of people. It comes from China. I think we have a really good chance of getting a really comprehensive deal,” he said.

When President Trump was asked about the possibility of meeting with his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin, he said he was “disappointed” by the lack of progress toward peace.

“I will not waste my time. I have always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin, but this is very disappointing. I thought this could be done before peace in the Middle East. There is Azerbaijan and Armenia; this was very difficult,” he said.

Trump also said President Putin praised him for the Middle East peace agreement.

Comparing their alleged efforts to stop hostilities between India and Pakistan, he said, “Putin actually told me on the phone, ‘Boy, that was amazing’ because everyone else tried to do it but failed. I did it.”
