Heavy rains: IMD issues alert for Malnad region in Karnataka

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of very heavy rains in Southern Inner Karnataka, especially in Southern Monday, on Monday, August 18, and a red warning came for some regions.
The warning given by the IMD stated that there were very heavy rain and powerful surface winds in the region on August 17, 18 and 19.
On Sunday, August 17, IMD made an orange warning in Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru regions and a red warning for Monday, August 18th. For Hassan, the department released a yellow warning and an orange warning on Monday.
A red stimulation warns excessive heavy rainfall (over 204.5 mm) and proposes a very heavy rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm.
Consultancy note
Considering the IMD warnings, the Chikkamagaluru Regional Administration issued a consultation note to residents and tourists visiting the region.
Deputy commissioner CN Meena Nagaraj, “There is a chance to slip in the vulnerable areas of the region. The people need to be alerted and take precautions to avoid unwanted events. As a tourist, visitors and trekking flights need to be extra careful.”
The deputy commissioner also applied to the 08262-238950 assistance line in case of any emergency.
