Helicopter Showers Flower Petals at Seemantha Ceremony in Mangaluru, Leaves Guests Stunned

Mangaluru: What started as a traditional Seemantha ceremony turned into a cinematic spectacle when a helicopter showered flower petals on a couple during the celebration in Mangaluru on Thursday.
Guests had gathered at Adyar Garden on the outskirts of the city for the baby shower of Arpitha, wife of entrepreneur Prakash Kumpala. As the rituals continued, a faint rumbling sound filled the air, growing louder and louder. A few minutes later, a black helicopter appeared overhead and circled briefly, dropping a cascade of flower petals onto the couple.
The aerial tribute was Prakash’s surprise gift to his wife and turned the traditional ceremony into an unforgettable celebration. While visitors watched the rain falling in amazement, many people recorded this moment with their mobile phones. There was applause as the ceremony briefly took on the atmosphere of a movie scene.
The helicopter was operating from the Maryhill Helipad, whose arrival and departure attracted curious onlookers, especially as there was no planned VVIP departure. It was reported that the helicopter landed around 11.30 in the morning and took off around 15.30 after completing the flower shower.
In a city known for its beaches and temples, this unique celebration quickly became a matter of controversy. Videos of the dramatic moment spread quickly on social media, drawing reactions from surprise to admiration.
