Meghan Markle dubbed the ‘Duchess of Duds’ after latest controversial move | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been named “Duchess of the Dudes” by royal commentators following her recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The Duchess of Sussex gave a candid interview for the December 2025/January 2026 issue of US magazine.

In it, she covered a variety of topics, including making mistakes and her relationship with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It also raised eyebrows after the article’s author, Kaitlyn Greenidge, revealed that Meghan had been announced to her with a royal title by a staff member when they met for an interview at one of her friends’ home.

But now a royal commentator has criticized the Duchess’ interview

Kirsten Fleming of the New York Post gave a harsh verdict, saying there was “nothing new because there’s nothing exciting.”

He said: “In fact, this ‘moment’ that Harper’s Bazaar wrote about is a moment when Markle has become obsolete in Hollywood with her over-the-top and underwhelming projects.

“I declare you the duchess of fools.”

In the interview, Meghan said that she thanked herself when she made mistakes in business, but did not reveal which mistakes she made.

Meghan said: “I am a mother who has children that age and is constantly learning new things.

“I watch them face things every day that feel completely insurmountable. But you can remember and say, ‘I know it seems really hard right now, but trust me, it’ll be easy soon.’

“I can treat myself with the same grace as a founder. There is no such thing as perfect. I can make mistakes, too.”
