Hidden cameras in El Paso gym bathrooms revealed employee behind invasive recording

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) – According to the court documents obtained by KTSM, two recorders were found in the bathrooms in El Paso Sports Hall for Youth Amigo organizations and recorded individuals without consent.

As KTSM has already mentioned, Christopher Sotelo, a former amigo coach with the Texas Bandits All-Stars Amigo organization, was arrested on 29 August and was accused of two invaders of invading visual records. He released Bond on August 30th.

On August 23, an employee in the gym is claimed to have found a small, black, rectangular object similar to a smartphone in one of the bathrooms.

The item was found on the lower shelf of 3,000 towers and looked at the toilet. The employee took the item, believing that he had a secret camera device and informed one of the owners.

According to the court documents, the owner looked at the device and found a small camera lens and 64 GB micro SD card. Other owners and staff were informed about the discovery.

Another employee checked the second bathroom and found a pen on a decorative element, wrapped in a small piece of paper towel on the toilet. The employee told his owners that the pen was hot for touch and suggested the last use.

The owners then took the items to the police and found two video recordings on the pen -style device.

According to the court documents, a record labeled as Vid0201.Mov, which lasted less than 4 minutes, showed that Sotelo looked at the camera while manipulating the device as if he was positioning the camera. Sotelo then came out of the bathroom.

Later, in the same record, while looking for an employee sink and toilet, he was looking for something ”. The employee then reaches the camera device and the video stops.

In the other record tagged as Vid0188.Mov, it shows that both owners walk into the bathroom at different times, using the toilet and come out of the room.

One of the owners said that the bathrooms were cleaned daily and that the products were not there in the previous days.

In addition, one of the owners said that the business was opened at 7 am and that Sotelo and another employee had lessons at 8 am.

Both owners said they were not aware of the registration of the police and that they were not aware of any recorder in the bathroom.

Sotelo faces criminal charges for invading records. If it is convicted, it may be sentenced to imprisonment and may have to register as a sex criminal in accordance with the Texas law.

The investigation continues. The authorities have not yet announced a possible motive and remain uncertain whether there are other records or whether any additional victims are involved.
