No. 12 High Point turned heads in March Madness for the second time in as many games, but couldn’t find the same success.

The Panthers’ season, which advanced to the Round of 32 after an upset victory over No. 5 Wisconsin, ended after No. 4 Arkansas ran away with them late Saturday night.

High Point led by as many as five early in the game, and after a 12-2 run they took a 56-52 lead with 14:17 left.

Both teams traded shots for several minutes, and for a brief moment, no one increased their lead by more than three points.

The Panthers took a 72-71 lead with 7:04 left in the game, and the Razorbacks responded with a 10-2 run, putting them up by seven points for their largest lead of the night.

The game was quickly tied at 83 after High Point’s wild run, but in the final 3:19, Arkansas outscored High Point 11-5 to grab the victory despite a gutsy effort from the Panthers.

Two Panthers, Rob Martin (30) and Cam’Ron Fletcher (25), combined for 55 points, but Arkansas’ Darius Auff Jr. He overshadowed everyone with 36 points.
