Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to reporters on Thursday outside of testifying before the House Oversight Committee and revealed that she had been questioned on a variety of topics, from Jeffrey Epstein to the bizarre “pizzagate” and UFO conspiracy theories.

“It ended up being quite unusual because I started getting asked a bunch of questions about UFOs and Pizzagate. It’s one of the most despicable bogus conspiracy theories ever to spread on the Internet,” Clinton told reporters after the hearing.

The Pizzagate conspiracy theory spread rapidly during the 2016 presidential election, falsely claiming that the New York City Police Department (NYPD) uncovered a pedophilia ring linked to members of the Democratic Party while investigating the emails of sex offender Anthony Weiner. The theory has been completely debunked.

Notably, the UFO inquiry comes just a week after President Trump ordered the Pentagon to declassify alien-related files following comments made by former President Barack Obama on a podcast.

Clinton also flatly denied any acquaintance with convicted sex offender Epstein, but acknowledged knowing his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, describing her as an “acquaintance.”

“I didn’t know Jeffrey Epstein. I knew Ghislaine [Maxwell] as an acquaintance,” she said, adding that her husband went on charity trips with Epstein.

Clinton also noted that Maxwell attended her daughters’ wedding as the plus of another guest. The former Secretary of State and presidential candidate expressed confidence that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal behavior.

The former president, whose name appears in the Justice Department’s investigative documents, is preparing to testify before the House oversight committee. Clinton has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has never faced criminal investigation.

Also, being included in the files does not mean that he was involved in a crime.

“I am, and I think the chronology of her connection to Epstein ended years ago, several years before anything related to Epstein’s criminal activities was discovered, she was charged, and unfortunately she was given a sweetheart deal,” Hillary said.

Epstein spent 13 months behind bars in 2008 after being convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and enticing a prostitute. In 2015, details emerged about the “sweetheart deal” that allowed Epstein to evade federal sex trafficking charges.

Clinton’s deposition took place in the couple’s hometown of Chappaqua, a normally peaceful community north of New York City. Friday’s testimony will represent the first time a former president has had to testify before Congress.

Democrats have demanded that Clinton’s testimony be made public, urging Republicans who control the oversight committee to release both video footage and the full transcript of the hearing. Those demands were further emphasized Thursday when Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado forwarded a photo of Hillary Clinton to a conservative influencer during a private hearing and then shared it on social media.

It was reported that the action temporarily halted the testimony, which caused tensions to increase between the parties regarding the terms of the meeting.

Democrats have asked Congress to require President Trump, who has repeatedly appeared in the filings but denied any wrongdoing, to present evidence in the case. Representative Robert Garcia (D-California)

), noted that Bill Clinton’s appearance sets a precedent that should equally apply to Trump.

“Let’s bring President Trump before our committee to answer questions from survivors across the country,” Garcia said.

However, Oversight committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) stated that Trump cannot be removed from office because he is a sitting president.

The Epstein case has gripped Washington for the past few months; Democrats claimed the Trump administration mishandled the case and protected men in power who had previous ties to Epstein, who died by suicide in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Earlier this week, Democrats invited Epstein survivors to a joint session of Congress where President Trump will deliver his State of the Union address. For example, Representatives.

Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.) welcomed Sky and Amanda Roberts, the brother and sister-in-law of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most outspoken victims, whose testimony against the former Prince Andrew triggered a series of accusations against him. Giuffre committed suicide in April 2025.

“Today is monumental. Today we say to this administration and the nation that survivors deserve to be seen,” Amanda said at a press conference hours before the speech. he said. “Keep your eyes on us. Keep your eyes on Virginia, and don’t leave survivors behind once again.”
