Hindi row: Congress takes dig at Thackeray cousins for claiming credit on withdrawal of GRs

The congress seemed skeptical of a potential political alliance between the two cousins.
In Maharashtra schools from 1 to 5, in a violent response to the promotion of Hindi language, the state cabin on June 29 attracted two gr (government orders) for the implementation of three language policies.
Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said that the introduction of Hindi as a third language from the 1st grade aroused opposition throughout the state.
“Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackerray, if they demand a loan for the withdrawal of GR’s, are good. If they come together politically, our best wishes,” Chavan told PTI.
Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj, who are the president of Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS respectively, hosted a common “victory” rally to celebrate the return of two Gr as a third language of 1 class. “Hindi language GR’s and a potential political alliance between the two cousins are two separate issues.
Sumpal claimed that he had written letters from 600 people from various departments to get together against GRS and had held a series of meetings with educators and Marathi language experts.
“Everyone fought against the imposition of the first class (in public schools).” He said.
