Historic Myanmar bridge destroyed in fighting | Myanmar

In Myanmar, a colonial bridge, once the world’s highest railway table, was destroyed during the war in years of clashes.

The 2021 coup has consumed Myanmar since the civil government dismissed Myanmar and fought with numerous military pro -democracy groups and ethnic armed organizations.

Representatives of ruling military junta and anti-warning armed groups accused each other for the destruction of the Gokteic Bridge on Sunday.

In a video statement, Junta spokesman Zaw Min Tun, Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the People’s Defense forces groups “bombed and destroyed the bridge” claimed. A separate statement made by Junta said that the bridge was “exploding with mines”.

The building, which fits 102 meters above 300 meters and a passage, is the highest bridge in Myanmar and is the world’s highest railway table when it was opened in 1901 during the British colonial period.

Videos and photos on social media showed that the bridge was partially collapsed and damaged.

The bridge is located on the border of Nawnghkio and Kyaukme districts in North Shahan. Mandalay-Alashio is part of the railway line and attracts a series of tourists.

Myanmar’s junta is preparing for a range of range, boycotted by opposition groups and criticized by international monitors.
