Hold my beer. Uniparty votes down Senate gas inquiry

ACT Senator David Pocock’s proposal for an inquiry into why gas companies pay less tax than beer drinkers has been rejected by Labor and the ‘Opposition’. What is fraud?

The fraud is gas producers not paying their fair share of taxes, and the Senate majority is pretty happy about it.

It’s no surprise that Labor and the LNP remain in thrall to the gas lobby, but the fact that Pauline Hanson has sided with the Greens and independent senators in voting for an inquiry shows that this is no longer a ‘left versus right’ issue, with everyone else against the One Party.

Labor voted against the inquiry, while Coalition senators, including newly elected National Party leader and fossil fuel cheerleader Matt Canavan, didn’t even bother to turn up.
