Horror as gran mauled to death by deer | World | News

According to officers, the deer became extremely aggressive as it approached, creating a dangerous situation that left them with no option but to take action to ensure safety.
Jodi’s dedication to deer care began in 2013 when she witnessed a doe being hit and killed by a car. The woman became emotional when she saw the animal, a one-day-old fawn circling its mother’s body, stopped her car and ran across the highway to save it.
She named the baby Wheezer and cared for him for two years, but her efforts led to a complaint from a local resident.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources initially threatened to cull Wheezer, but was allowed to keep him after Jodi announced her plan to establish a rehabilitation center for deer, marking the beginning of her lifelong mission to save and nurture the animals.
After Jodi’s death, questions quickly arose about whether Wheezer, the deer she had rescued and raised, was responsible, given how familiar and comfortable he was around her.
However, Jodi’s daughter Jennifer Bryan emotionally addressed the speculation on social media, firmly denying the rumors and making it clear that Wheezer will not be blamed.
Ms Bryan wrote on Facebook: “Wheezer did not kill my mother. [Ohio Department of Natural Resources] when you get permission. My mother knew the dangers of keeping deer.
“Worked for rescue and relief in Belmont County [sic] many animals throughout their lives. “This is a sad tragedy and we deserve RESPECT and time to grieve.”
