A 90-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was allegedly raped and thrown into a well by four men in central India, police said. It was reported that the attack took place in the Punasa area of Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, approximately 70 kilometers away from the district center.
Police allege that the men gagged the woman with a cloth and threw her into a nearby well before carrying out the attack. The attackers fled when they noticed people approaching the fields.
Locals later realized that the woman was injured and in pain after she managed to crawl out.
He was left unassisted for more than 12 hours before he was spotted Friday morning.
According to local media reports, eyewitnesses immediately informed the police and their daughter, who lives in the neighboring village.
The seriously injured person was taken to the hospital in Punasa.

A female police officer was assigned to take her statement, but the police said she was not yet in a position to testify.
