Horror footage shows tram surfing tragedy in Melbourne

Horrific footage has emerged of the moment a teenager died while “surfing” on a Melbourne tram.

Footage obtained by 7News shows the young man clinging to the back of a moving Melbourne tram heading down Errol Street late at night, losing control of the steering wheel and falling onto the street.

He then lies on the street as a friend and passersby run to help him.

He was taken to hospital and later died.

The fall occurred on September 28.

Police were not aware of the tragedy at the time, but are currently investigating the tragedy and are urging anyone with information to come forward, 7News reported.
