Households urged to stockpile 9 items to prepare for WW3 | UK | News

Nine items are essential to stock in case World War III breaks out. Global tensions have increased in recent years, especially with Russia’s war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the situation between Israel and Iran and US President Donald Trump’s desire for America to take control of Greenland have increased fears of a global conflict. In 2025, the European Commission called on EU countries to stockpile critical equipment and encouraged citizens to maintain at least a 72-hour stock of essential supplies in case of emergency.

Professor Anthony Glees, security and defense expert and lecturer at the University of Buckingham, told The Guardian: Mirror He said the UK should follow suit as Sweden, Finland and Norway distribute detailed survival guides. For example, five million copies of the 32-page booklet titled If Crisis or War Comes in Sweden were sent. The European Commission said the EU faces unprecedented threats, from geopolitical tensions and conflicts to risks of cybersecurity and information manipulation, from climate change to increasing risks of natural hazards.

To be prepared, people are advised to prepare a survival kit consisting of the following nine items:

  • Bottled water and portable water filters
  • Non-perishable food and energy bars
  • Flashlights and spare batteries
  • Fire starting tools and first aid kit
  • Warm clothing and shelter equipment
  • Multi-tool or survival knife
  • Communication devices such as radio
  • Important identification documents and cash
  • Navigation tools such as compasses and maps

Speaking with Tucker Carlson recently, Sergey Karaganov, Chairman of the Russian Foreign and Defense Policy Council, warned that nuclear weapons would be deployed if Russia were defeated. He said Europe would be “physically finished.”

He added that Russia “will have to severely punish Europe” if it continues to support Ukraine. He said: “Everyone in the world is now laughing at Europe, which was once one of the central centers of world power. Now it’s a joke. And of course I’m not talking about all of Europe. We know there are decent Europeans. There are smart Europeans.”

Poland is another country that has sent out survival guides to all 17 million households across the country. The guide consists of 48 pages and was prepared jointly by the ministry of defense.

The manual includes instructions regarding air strikes, terrorist incidents, cyber disruption and the possible use of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons.
