How a ‘brag doc’ can help you ace interviews and land a job, says recruiter

One of the best recommendations of Maddi Machado from an old boss in Microsoft was to follow all his career wins.
Machado “always when I do a good job, when I get someone’s life easier, when I get a Jerusalem” first in a Microsoft document, then in a E -POSTA DRAWING, and now in a slide presentation. It says this “boast“And he says he has used it in every interview for the last 10 years.
35 -year -old Machado, Tampa, FLA is the inverse employer and founder of Skillscript, a resume platform.
The concept of documenting your career is not new, but the method classifies four special aspects of your professional success:
- What i am good: What roles and responsibilities come to you, which are more difficult for others? Which tasks are you constantly complimening? Machado says these are “corporate superpowers”.
- What am I delivering: Machado says this section should emphasize the effect of your unique skills. For example, if you are really great in cooperation between functions, you will probably offer efficient teams and great communication. Imagine in this way, Machado says: “What wouldn’t happen if you weren’t there? Or what wouldn’t happen if you weren’t there?”
- What I am most proud of: Machado says these are the “extraordinary” achievements you have gone above and beyond. Some of his favorite guiding questions: Have you saved the company money? Did you make money for the company? Did you save the company time? Have you created a process that creates more efficiency? Imagine a big picture in terms of your team and your impact on the business.
- Why should they hire me: Finally, while preparing a boasting doctor for a new job, adapt this section to show your harmony with the role, the team and the company. Search the company’s mission and culture and show how you will be a good harmony. For example, if the company is known to move quickly, it is time to tell them that you work best. Your elevator here should show that “not only a good harmony is not a good harmony, but also a good harmony for the company as a whole”.
Better than a resume or cover letter: ‘Nobody Reading Cover Letters’
Machado says he can help him to be in the hands of a pride and have a greater impact than a traditional resume or cover letter.
“Nobody reads cover letters, Mac Machado says. “Even if I am an employer for many years, maybe I can trust how many times I have read a cover letter.”
In the meantime, a boasting doctor says Machado, “Time to Toot your own horn.” “It is hard to see the amount of effects you really have and really proud and really proud.”
It also shows the most important aspects of a candidate that a recruitment manager wants to know, says Machado, Meta and LinkedIn, based on recruitment managers.
Recruitment managers often know what you do daily in your role, Machado says, but looking for things to think about what to bring to a new company and “Wow, what you do there. Imagine what to do here.” “And don’t boast your doctor.”
Machado says it is a useful resource to add Brag Doc to your application, track an employment manager in LinkedIn, and even cry for a cold message. It will not necessarily take the job immediately, but it can bring it so fast to the recruitment pipeline.
Then use it to prepare for interviews and negotiate a strong offer, Machado says.
“It is nice to remind yourself what you have achieved so far or small, and to share with other people, or he says.
