George Clooney, Amal and Twins Become French Citizens

Actor George Clooney became a French citizen along with his wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney and their two children.
According to the naturalization decision, the couple and their 8-year-old twins Ella and Alexander were granted citizenship.
The couple is living in France with their children after uprooting the family to get away from Hollywood culture, the Academy Award-winning actor and director said in October.

In an interview with Esquire, Clooney, 64, talked about his life in France and explained why they chose to move his family to the countryside.
“You know, we live farm in france. Growing up, most of my life was spent on the farm, and as a kid I hated the idea. But now it’s like, for them: they’re not on their iPad, you know? They eat dinner with adults and have to eat their dishes too. They have a much better life.”

“I was worried about raising our kids in Los Angeles, surrounded by culture Hollywood. “I felt like they would never get a fair shake in life,” he continued.
In addition to the family home in France, George also reportedly owns an estate in England, a villa on Lake Como in Italy, and another property near his family in Kentucky, People reports.

In the Esquire interview, Clooney talked about living in France, away from the glamor of Hollywood.
“France doesn’t really care about fame,” he said. “I don’t want them walking around worrying about the paparazzi. I don’t want them to be compared to other people’s celebrity kids.”
